New Years Eve 2011

Its new years eve here. its not even 8pm and I am drinking a massive coffee not convinced that I will make it to see the clock strike 12 but for the first time since I can remember I am ok with this. I guess I have grown since becoming a parent and have realised there is so much more to life than getting blind drunk and waking up with a sick feeling of not knowing what you did or said the evening before.
I am so incredibly exited about tomorrow and beginning the 366 project that I wanted to post a picture a day early, simply because I have had the most amazing week being home, exploring the world and creating beautiful memories I wanted to always remember this week. It has been fantastic and I wish all weeks could be this good. But unfortunately work and life gets in the way.

My little helper zonked out on the couch after a hard morning of helping in the garden with filthy feet and a pile of sand underneath. we have had so much fun this week fixing up the vege patch and planting grass and watching it all grow. This picture captures my babies last day of 2011, the second new years eve of his short yet beautiful life. I can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for us, and I can't wait to see how much we both grow and change over the next 12 months.

Happy New Year! Welcome 2012! and most importantly...
LET THE 366 PROJECT BEGIN!!

Tuesday 13 December 2011

I have just come to realise 2012 is a leap year!

So it has just come to my attention that 2012 is a leap year. This will in fact change my 365 project into a 366 project. I am left feeling really disappointed about this, more so than I probably should be. I had great plans for this project and I had purchased a scrapbook with the intention of tracking each day both online and in this book so I could have a hard copy come new years eve 2012.  I guess I just feel a little sad that I have had to change the name of the blog plus change all my scrapbook just for one extra day. But I never know what that inconvenient one extra day will bring... It could be the greatest day of my life. It could bring the greatest picture of the entire project. I will be honest; I did just liked the ring 365 project had to it. 366 just doesn't quite sound the same. Oh well. 366 days to get used to it!!

Welcome!!!

Hello,

Thanks for visiting my blog; Pumpkin Love. I have created this space in anticipation of a project I hope to commence early 2012; my 365 project. The concept behind this project was taken from an idea I stumbled upon online one day. The idea of the 365 project came from a women who decided to take a photo everyday of something she was grateful for with the aim of becoming more aware of and thankful for the things in life that otherwise go unnoticed. Her sister, Gregarious Peach undertook a very similar project but photographed her children every day for 365 days. It was such a magical experience following her journey and watching how far her children had grown in a year. This lovely woman whom I have never met has inspired me to complete my own 365 project.

At the moment I feel as if life is flying by far too quickly and I wanted to find a way to document my beautiful son's childhood and cherish every day. I find so much amazement in watching him grow, and learn and discover how the world works. He spends countless moments fascinated by things I do not spare a second thought to. Every day I share a moment with my son that I want to hold onto forever; be it a kiss, a smile, a hug, a new discovery or a cheeky look I want to cherish these moments so I would always have a piece of them with me forever long after the moments have passed.

I feel as if this project will be a huge challenge for me, but I think the outcome will be worthwhile. I am an avid procrastinator, and the mother of a very busy toddler, I am doubtful within myself that this site will be updated on a daily basis. Hopefully I will get the chance to update it every few days so please stay patient with me!

Hope you enjoy
